Ace Password Manager (Ace PW) is a simplistic yet secure password manager that leverages the abilities of Java, as well as the principles Microsoft’s Secure Development Life-Cycle to create an application for users to store usernames and passwords in a local client as well as a secure .txt file. It was developed by myself and the other members of my team in ICS 427, Software Quality Assurance/Secure Development. Using security strategies, project lifecycle management, and robust testing, we created a password manager that protects PII amd sensitive login data from attackers attempting to access a local device.
Throughout the process of ICS 427, myself and my team developed skills using Microsoft’s Secure Development Lifecycle strategy. While learning about how to best develop, secure, and defend software, I gained a deeper understanding of the process and requirements needed for program security. During our project, I coordinated defense testing and evaluation of our application, and was in charge of drafting all legal disclaimers and warranties prior to product release.
You can learn more about the program and download a .jar version at the Ace PW Website.
